Shen Yun Performing Arts showcased the spirit of ancient Chinese civilization through classical Chinese dance, music, and storytelling on Feb. 16 in Basel, Switzerland. The artistry captivated audience members.

“It’s all very mystical and very gentle. It also shows the perfection of the human being. And the feelings, the soul, the music also takes a hold of you,” said Anna Frankowicz, an asset manager.

Ildikó Müller, a business owner, said, “It’s very colorful, very positive, and constructive. It shows a deep truth and still comes across as very simple.”

Bruno Catellami, a former business owner, said Shen Yun is great. "I look forward to the new show every year. And I’m pleasantly surprised every time, it’s simply fantastic," he said.

“This jump, where these individual dancers then go into this trench, and these angels come out again. That is unique, really grandiose,” said Peter Müller, a composer.

Since 2006, Shen Yun has toured the world with a mission to revive 5,000 years of divinely inspired traditional Chinese culture from before communism. With eight companies performing worldwide, each season brings a brand new program to audiences everywhere.

“[Tradition] seems very, very important to me today. Not only materialism again, but also spiritual thoughts. Something deeper, human, love, warmth,” said Mr. Catamelli.

“It tries to take us to another world. I think there is not only the material, but also the other in the universe. And that there is a connection,” said Ms. Frankowicz.

“It’s simply worth it; look forward to next year; register early so that you have a good place and enjoy the show. And I wish the whole company good luck and success,” Mr. Catellami said.

Shen Yun will perform in Lausanne, Switzerland, from Feb. 20 to 22.
