Mr. Hunt, the vice president of a major oil and gas distribution company, and his wife, Renee Hunt, owner of Lustre Fitness and Lifestyle, said they appreciate Shen Yun's spiritual depth and unwavering message of hope.
“It was fantastic. It was just like we expected, with a great message,” Mr. Hunt said. He praised the production's grandeur, noting, “The singing, the dancing, the colors, the message—everything was just amazing.”
Mrs. Hunt echoed the sentiment: “Oh, the costumes are amazing, the colors are spectacular. The acrobatics are amazing, and how everyone is just synchronized is mesmerizing. Honestly, it’s fantastic, wonderful. It really adds another dimension, another element of elegance to the evening.”
They both emphasized how Shen Yun’s message stood out to them.
Mr. Hunt expressed appreciation for Shen Yun’s effort to revive traditional Chinese culture in the face of suppression.
“That message—maybe a lot of people may not be aware of—is that China was a beautiful, beautiful culture, and the government there has worked to suppress any of that beauty,” he said. “So we just feel it’s really important to support Shen Yun and what they’re trying to do.”
Mrs. Hunt added, “It’s wonderful that people talk about their Creator. I too believe in the Creator. And I think too often that’s suppressed. We do need to look to that higher power for guidance and to help us through difficult times, which most certainly the Chinese people are going through right now.”
“Even though I’m sure it’s very scary, they still bravely go in and do their performance. It’s their way of standing up to the oppression their people have had for so long.”
She concluded with a heartfelt message: “We go forward knowing the wonderful things Shen Yun is doing. It inspires us as well. And we are absolutely willing to help spread this beauty and hope to others.”
