“What's reflected in my mind was just kind of the graceful beauty of the movements with kind of a mix of harmony in the environment around it,” said Paul Kruchko, a software engineer.
Gary Golasa, a dentist, said the performance was “fabulous, the colors, the music, the dancers. I don't think you could see anything as exciting anywhere. It really is a great exposition.”
“We see the ancient culture, and then we see the effects of what modern-day times have had on that ancient culture. Just absolutely fantastic. The dancers are absolutely phenomenal,” said Mark Kurfess, an entrepreneur.
Ann Capela, a public manager, said: “I love the show, I love the artistry. The colors of the costumes are beautiful, and it really depicts old China.”
“It was very, very inspiring. Yes, transcending the mundane with the spiritual and moving that knowledge that we've had since time began to the new generations is wonderful,” said Richard Newsome, a former sergeant with the Michigan Department of Corrections. “China is one of the oldest continuous civilizations on the planet, and there's just so much knowledge and wealth that's been passed down through so many millennia that it's just sad to see that that can't be freely expressed in China right now.”
Steven Maffy, a business development director, said: “I like the concept of the people wanting to preserve their culture and trying to resist, actually, the communist rule. And so I like the fact that there is the belief in the divine and that there's that relationship here and again, then it manifests itself with all the beautiful colors and dancing, and it's just so well done.”
“The harmony with nature and kind of the more spiritual aspect certainly got my attention. So a little bit more ethereal, a little less material,” said Paul Kruchko, a software engineer.
