“I had the chance to see it at the premiere on the 9th, and today I said, well, I have to come back and see this show again,” he said. “The classical dance that truly showcases China is spectacular.”
Mr. Fernández said that he saw a “message of hope” in the programs that depict traditional values.
“One can truly connect with values, with creativity, and that this can perfectly be a combination through which we can become better people every day,” he said.
Mr. Fernández described what he saw the second time around.
“You sit down [for the second time] with a different mindset, ready to notice all the details,” he said. “The use of colors really makes an impact.”
He was especially impressed by Shen Yun’s digital backdrop.
“The use of technology, the screens—it’s something that is truly spectacular; it really gets us all excited. Even though I was already familiar with it, every moment it unfolds, you discover it anew and come to appreciate it more,” he said.
