“It was exceptional. Very colorful, the music, everything we expected was there. We’re really happy,” said Florence Rubiconi-Girard, the director of the Rhône Health Administration.
Jean-Jacques David, the former mayor of Lyon’s 6th Arrondissement, said: “It’s really enjoyable to watch these women and men, they’re incredibly agile and so graceful.”
“Living in Lyon, I’ve wanted to see Shen Yun for years, but I’ve never been able to get tickets because the show is always sold out,” said Pauline Garande, the general manager at the Marriott Hotel. “What really stands out is the attention to detail. The quality of the performers and their level is just, wow. The quality of the costumes, too, that’s something I really pay attention to. And the dancers’ smiles. The level is extremely high.”
Gauthier Rubiconi, a business owner, said, “[Shen Yun] is something that’s very valuable, even for us. It also allows us to reconnect with our roots. I imagine that for them as well, it’s important to preserve this kind of performance. It’s very important.”
Mr. David said, “It is something wonderful, because it’s only natural for people to showcase their culture, keep it alive, and share it with the world.”
He added, “Keep going. It’s wonderful, it inspires thousands of people. So I don’t see why it should stop. It must go on.”
