Shen Yun Performing Arts concluded eight days of performances at the Amphitheatre 3000 in Lyon, France, on April 12. Audience members praised the show’s beauty and artistry.

Sofia Amodio, a figure skating instructor, said, “The skill level of all the dancers is truly amazing. I can’t really judge technically, but in terms of beauty, it was breathtaking.”

Roberto Ducourtil, an Italian director of motor vehicles, said, “It’s a very beautiful performance. I hadn’t seen it before, and we had actually booked the tickets a year ago to see it. We’re very happy, really glad to be here.”

Roland Chuniaud, a former police captain, said, “I had tried to see this show last year, but I couldn’t get tickets. This year, I’m really happy to be here, and I have to say, I truly enjoyed the performance.”

Based in New York, Shen Yun was founded in 2006 on a mission to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture through classical Chinese dance and music from before communism. Audiences appreciated every aspect of the show, from the choreography and music to the costumes and digital backdrops.

Ms. Amodio said, “I was really pleasantly surprised by the connection between the dance and the music with the orchestra. Often in shows, you don’t get the chance to have a live orchestra, and here it adds an even greater dimension to the performance.”

Mr. Chuniaud said, “Very beautiful show, magnificent! I really enjoyed the sets, especially the surprise with the little character who falls and gets back up within the scenery. I truly enjoyed the performance, the costumes, everything. It was magnificent.”

Mr. Ducourtil said, “Whether it’s the men or the women, they dance very well, with top-notch quality. I’m very pleased with this show, of course.”

Mr. Chuniaud said, “I think it’s a show that really conveys friendship, kindness, and peace. A lot of peace, I’d say.”

Shen Yun will be performing in Toulouse, France, until April 29, before returning to Paris on May 1 for a series of 10 performances.
