“It was an absolutely amazing experience. This is my first time, and I enjoyed it so much. It was magic,” said Nelly Coneway, a journalist, writer, former TV anchor, and producer. “I absolutely love the beginning of your show, reminds us that we all came from the stars and we came temporarily to this Earth. And it's all about enjoyment, kindness, and being here for each other, do[ing] something nice for each other.”
Michael Grubb, a business owner, said: “The idea that the human body, the human spirit, has divine dignity, that we're not just a number. We're not just some kind of a machine, like some scientific viewpoints would have us believe.”
“I could see the aura of your performance. Like the whole theater was lit up with this beautiful golden light. It's like a very angelic presence on stage,” said Coneway.
Dedicated to reviving a culture once nearly lost, Shen Yun uses classical Chinese dance and music to tell the stories of five millennia of values and wisdom. The name Shen Yun means the beauty of divine beings dancing.
“I was feeling how magical it is for these people to be in front of us and to share their art with us. And I didn't know what Shen Yun means. And when you guys translated it, I was like it fits perfectly what you guys are doing. It is divine beings performing and making us feel divine just watching the performance,” said Coneway.
“Absolutely loved it. And it was so natural. It was literally that they're appearing, like teleportation, appearing in front of us. And I could hear also the reactions of the people around me. It was beautiful,” said Coneway.
“They presented some very important ideas with absolute eloquence and grace, and that really made it all worthwhile,” said Grubb.
Coneway added: “Just keep doing your art, because so much kindness and so much beauty is absolutely needed in this world. Thank you.”
