Shen Yun Performing Arts dazzled audiences in Shibuya, Japan, on Feb. 2 with a display of heavenly scenes and traditional Chinese dance and music.

Audience members praised Shen Yun’s artistry.

“It's amazing, the power of [the artists] is something I can't easily imitate. I was very touched by what they presented about God and the human world,” said Takafumi Leibuchi, a dental hospital director.

“Everyone was in perfect sync. The way the artists carried themselves, the flexibility. Everything about them impressed me, from the beginning to the end,” said Yukio Noguchi, a company supervisor.

“There are some parts that make you wonder when the backdrop images and people on stage switched places, which was amazing,” said Eri Nakahara, a voice-over instructor.

Shen Yun aims to revive 5,000 years of divinely inspired traditional Chinese culture and values. Audience members said they were moved by Shen Yun’s mission, adding that the values represented remain essential in today's society.

“I believe that morals and traditional culture have been nurtured by people since ancient times. And that is what we have today. There are people who are trying to find something new, but in the process of finding new things, traditions must continue to exist,” said Mr. Leibuchi.

“The message of believing in what is right and in the existence of God was very clear to me, and I felt it is an important message we must always remember,” said Kazuyo Itagaki, a company director.

“The human heart, sincerity, righteousness, and sincere attitudes towards gods and Buddhas. I felt that the idea of how people should be permeated from the stories in a way that was touching, honest, and unpretentious. It is in a way that was unique to this day and age,” said Ms. Nakahara.

“Many things are changing at a very fast pace, with the internet and social media, but we must not lose our traditions. Especially in Japan, we are becoming increasingly sensitive to information, and it is becoming more and more difficult to understand what the real thing is,” said Kazunari Takahashi, a company president. “But by watching this performance, we can recognize what we should not forget.”

Shen Yun will perform in Woking, United Kingdom, on Feb. 4 and 5.
