“What amazes me is the quality of the stage, the costumes, and the set design. There is so much artistry and such high quality,” Miguel Ángel Jara Bordi, a businessman, said.
Andrea Gabriela Plascencia, an actress said, “I’m truly impressed by the movements of all the performers. They are incredibly coordinated, they move beautifully, and they make the costumes and the entire presentation look sensational and spectacular. I’m genuinely amazed because they dance beautifully, and you can clearly see the discipline they have, and that really shows in Shen Yun.”
Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture, a culture the Chinese communist regime has been seeking to destroy. The company also exposes the communist party’s persecution of faith, and is one of the reasons Shen Yun cannot perform in China.
“This is a reunion that invites deep reflection, allowing us to rediscover, embrace, and celebrate on a daily basis the age-old way in which the Chinese people and their great culture have managed to endure and reinvent themselves in the face of any challenge, no matter how great or insurmountable it may seem,” Raúl Fraga Juárez, a journalist, said.
Juan Manuel Alegría Ruiz, a business owner, said, “The message of perseverance. Even the perseverance of the performance itself, that they have the courage to perform despite all the adversity. I think that is the core of everything.”
“That’s why they are based in New York, although they perform in many countries, because they are showing the world what China is today through its evolution, from communist China to a China that is more nationalistic in some respects,” Mr. Bordi said. “We already know how this will end. But in the meantime, it’s wonderful that they are introducing modern China through such spectacular performances.”
Ms. Plascencia said, “This is my third time coming, and I’ll come back again. It never stops amazing me. Extraordinary.”
