Shen Yun performed at the Edinburgh Playhouse to sold-out theaters on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. Audience members said they were uplifted by the performance, including Miral Jaber, a lawyer.

“Elation and a reminder of the beauty that there is in this world, in amongst this busy lifestyle that we all lead,” said Ms. Jaber, who watched Shen Yun on Jan. 31.

“I feel light, I feel joyful, smiles all the way through. It was wonderful to see and to feel.”

Shirley White, a manager, said: “The performers look like they really enjoyed it. You could just see there was one of the male dancers smiling through the whole performance.”

Jim Ross, a business owner, commented on the energy of the performance. “For me, the color, the energy has been truly incredible and very much inspiring,” he said.

Every Shen Yun performance features a live orchestra that is a blend of classical Western and Eastern instruments.

Shvetha Vengatesan, a doctor, described the music as “incredible.”

“I could just listen to it all the time. It was just so incredible and if I could prescribe it, I would prescribe it as well to patients,” she said.

Shen Yun performs an all-new show each year with fresh choreography, music, and songs. After Edinburgh, Shen Yun will continue its 2025 UK tour to locations including Northampton, Bristol, and Glasgow.
