Shen Yun Performing Arts kicked off eight days of shows in Montpellier, France, on March 1. Audiences in the French Mediterranean city were amazed by the performers' dedication and artistry.

Lucien Martinez, a psychiatrist, said, “What touched me in this performance was the grace, the apparent ease with which the dancers move. And it’s really meant to give that impression of effortlessness. I can only imagine the phenomenal amount of work that must have gone into it behind the scenes.”

“It’s magnificent. First of all, the colors are stunning, and the choreography is truly remarkable. And I haven’t even mentioned the staging, which is digital, something a bit exceptional. But above all, when it comes to the dancers, I love classical dance, but their harmony and coordination are simply unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable,” said Nicole Calvinhac, a career training director.

“Wonderful. Yes, it’s really beautiful, it looks easy, but it’s not at all,” said Tiffany Albert, a dance teacher. “It is completely different from a recorded performance. There’s so much more emotion, you don’t know where to look, whether at the musicians or the dancers. It’s really great.”

Based in New York, Shen Yun aims to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese history and culture from before communism. Its performances emphasize moral values such as courage and respect, leaving a lasting impression on audiences.

“I was impressed by the dancers’ grace, their coordination, their sense of acrobatics. And the little vignettes that tell stories, each time with values, a moral, and something that conveys kindness, compassion, forgiveness, sharing, generosity. There’s a whole set of values being conveyed that feel really uplifting, especially today,” said Christian Martinségur, a hospital director.

Ms. Albert said, “It’s a wonderful experience to watch with the family. I came with my mom and my daughter, and we all really enjoyed it, different generations together. So many memories to keep and so many emotions. It’s really wonderful, really good.”

“You really have to go see it, there’s no way to imagine what you’re about to experience,” said Ms. Calvinhac.

Mr. Martinségur said, “You’ll be amazed, surprised, enchanted, and completely blown away. Go see it. That’s what I’d tell everyone.”

Shen Yun will take the stage in Limoges, France, from March 12 to March 14.
