Remarkable, beautiful and outstanding—those are just some of the words audience members in Woking, UK, used to describe Shen Yun Performing Arts on Feb. 4 and 5.

“It was just the most remarkable performance. I mean I'm left wondering was it gymnastics? Was it dance? But it was surely magical. The costumes, the lighting, the effects. It was a remarkable production,” said school head Alastair Graham.

Classical Chinese dance combines with a live orchestra blending Chinese and Western instruments, bringing authentic Chinese culture to the stage.

Ophthalmologist Tom Poole was impressed by the music.

“We could see the orchestra, so that was great to hear the different instruments that you wouldn't necessarily hear in a European type orchestra,” he said.

Others said they resonated with a deeper message within the performance.

“I think it's a feeling of just being transported to a different world and perhaps some elements of that world are things that we all seek as human beings and don't always find it in the outside world, but we can find it within … that was one of the messages that came through for me,” said life coach Catherine Rowan.

“They were channeling the divinity that the whole orchestra and the whole dance company represented. So I felt elevated, and I knew that it was not just coming from them, but from the source,” said musician and holistic health practitioner Lucie Dun.

“Everything was in perfect harmony, and I knew I came to the right place,” she said.
