On March 26, audience members in Berlin, Germany, welcomed Shen Yun Performing Arts with heartfelt applause. Audience members said they were delighted with the company’s artistry.

“I love this perfectionism, and this lightness. You can see how much hard work goes into it. The fact that you spend a very long time on these small details, the expressions, the facial expressions, this politeness, this restraint. It touched me incredibly,” said Kerstin Merlin, a singer and TV host.

“I found it very beautiful all around. I especially found the athleticism of the performance, the strength of the dancers impressive,” said Felix Zastrow, a company project director.

“It's beautiful that you're transported to a completely different world, and that you can forget everyday life. I can only recommend it,” said Erik Heinicke, a business owner.

Shen Yun aims to revive 5,000 years of divinely inspired traditional Chinese culture from a time before communism, showcasing its beauty through classical Chinese dance, music, and storytelling. Theatergoers appreciated the values brought to life on stage.

“There were references indicating that people are drifting away from true values, that they are following evolution and all this prosperity, that this is actually a shame and that is not good for the human soul. I was very touched that such topics were addressed here,” said Angela Göbke, a church minister.

“I think it's important for us humans to have tradition. Because it teaches us values, human values. And these days, with social media, we're moving very fast. Everything has become very superficial, and it doesn't really give people any stability. And I believe tradition and culture give people stability,” said Aysegül Taner, a psychologist.

“I think it's good that these old traditions are still being revived and kept alive. It's just a shame that we have the political conditions in China,” said Thomas Walter, a business owner.

Shen Yun will be performing in Dortmund, Germany, from April 8 through the 12.
