Shen Yun Performing Arts gave three performances in Torun, Poland, on Dec. 28 and 29, dazzling audience members with a colorful display of traditional Chinese culture. Theatergoers commented on the artistry of the dancers and the skill of the musicians.

Grzegorz Baran, a doctor, said: “I really like the performance, the presentation of classical Chinese dance, both in male and female forms. The music is also of a very high standard. The conductor leads the orchestra very well.”

“The movement of all the artists, how precisely everything is performed, how fast, how perfectly synchronized they are with the music, the visuals, the animation, it made an incredible impression,” said Wioletta Pączkowska, a coordinator for the County Family Support Center.

“What I noticed, the orchestra, they use string instruments, copper and wood all together, and some traditional instruments. It's a beautiful mix. I was quite impressed by the music. Very good,” said David De Knoop, a retired government official.

Shen Yun is based in New York, and has been touring the world since 2006. Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture—a culture that the communist regime in China has sought to destroy since taking power in 1949.

Jarosław Pączkowski, department head at Rypin Social and Economic Affairs, said: “I have heard from people who have been to China that there are certain restrictions even for tourists, regarding visiting certain places and events. But I did not expect that access to such a magnificent performance would be blocked.”

“I encourage people to see this performance. It broadens the knowledge of other nations about both dance and culture, and about what is currently happening in China,” Dr. Baran said.

Shen Yun will be performing in multiple cities across Europe, including Torino, Italy, and Bordeaux, France.
