Sal Arellano, a mortgage loan officer with Key Bank, said, “To me, it was like an escape from reality, because we always hear negative news on TV, so it kind of adds to stresses in life, and so to come here, it’s like escaping the negativity and seeing something that’s refreshing.”
Jason Bloomstrom, an engineer at Intel, said, “I just think that all the coordination and the flowing of the dancing and stuff, just really tells a visual picture, a visual story.”
Franto Sternot, a superintendent at Pence Contractors, said, “The performance was amazing. There was a lot happening on stage. It was so much fun to watch. I didn’t know where to look, what to watch, it was really fun.”
Mr. Arellano said, “It’s like old meets new technology, so when you have the combination, it’s incredible.”
“It was surprising when [the dancers] popped out of the screen,” said Mr. Bloomstrom. “It’s really well coordinated, just how the choreographing works with the background and stuff. It’s pretty amazing.”
Mr. Sternot said, “The orchestra was amazing, it was really fun. You don’t see them there, so you just hear all that emotion and feeling. That was really cool.”
Jim Lawon, an insurance agent, said, “I know there’s a mix of Chinese overtures and American music, so it’s a really nice balance.”
Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006 and brings an all-new performance each year.
Mr. Lawson said, “Congratulations on being so strong and doing it for 20 years now.”
“Great job. Keep it up. Hope to see you next year, 20th anniversary. I hope there’s 100 more,” said Mr. Arellano.
