An enthusiastic audience welcomed Shen Yun Performing Arts in Guadalajara, Mexico, on May 7. Through classical Chinese dance and music, the company transported audience members on a breathtaking journey through millennia of Chinese civilization.

“Impressive, spectacular, and incredible,” Saúl Vite Arias, the general director at Radio Formula Jalisco, said. “Very powerful, [the performance] really gives you goosebumps. The colors, the lighting, the artists, the movements, they're practically athletes. They're all impressive.”

Magdalena Quintero Rubio, a business owner, said, “I loved it. I thought the costumes were amazing and beautiful because they were very striking colors, but at the same time subtle, like a sweetness;  softness in the dance and in the colors, I loved it. I thought it was precious, and very beautiful.”

Salvador Rodriguez Ramirez, an accountant, said, “The choreography and the music are incredible. I was surprised by the size of the orchestra; the combination of conventional instruments and the traditional Chinese ones. The performances are so incredible, the dancers seem to fly, hovering in the air.”

Since 2006, Shen Yun has toured the world with a mission to revive 5,000 years of divinely-inspired traditional Chinese culture and values from "China before communism." Audience members appreciated this effort and took note of a deeper message.

“I loved the message, which was very focused on the change the world is experiencing. And I think that's something that should reach all of humanity, because there's a lot of emphasis on kindness, spiritual work, and enlightenment,” Rubio said.

“One of the things that caught my attention the most, and I was very pleasantly surprised, was the spiritual message they convey,” Ramirez said. “Which is about kindness, and spirituality. This is what attracted me the most.”

“Also in these times we live in, where the world suddenly feels chaotic, even catastrophic, seeing a spectacle like this brings some hope, some harmony, that connection between human beings and the extraordinary, the spiritual part,” Ivan Jorge Villa Arnaiz, a former state director, said.

Shen Yun successfully concluded their 2025 world tour on May 11, with performances across major cities worldwide. Every season, its artists bring an all new program for audiences to enjoy.
