Shen Yun Performing Arts took to the stage in Berlin, Germany, on Jan. 30 and Jan. 31.

“It’s a very romantic performance. The music is very different from what we hear in the West but very pleasant. The dancers are beautiful. Both the costumes and the acrobatics and the fine dance movements—it’s just aesthetically beautiful,” said Swantje Schultze, the vice president of an artificial intelligence company.

“Very beautiful. Very attractive. I was most excited about the animation when the people disappear and suddenly reappear into the pictures. So it’s absolutely amazing,” said Petra Liebener, the head of the archives department in a hospital.

Werner Gatzer is the chairman of the Germany Railway (DB) supervisory board. “Colorful, beautiful music, the stories are wonderful and everything is beautifully presented,” he said.

“Gorgeous costumes, marvelous technique. This combination of colors in costumes, it’s so unique. It’s just like the way nature is,” said Ilona Wiener, a CEO.

Shen Yun’s mission is to bring back 5,000 years of divinely inspired Chinese culture and values. Audience members admired the effort, saying they saw the real China.

Ms. Liebener said, “The real China, which you probably don’t get to see on the news. I actually enjoyed everything about it. Above all, how people communicate with each other, how they treat each other. So it’s a great pleasure to watch.”

“I’m really amazed that the heavens play an important role in the Chinese tradition,” Ms. Schultze said. “The message from the tenor is interesting that it is pointless to strive for fame all your life and then realize at the end, in old age, that it was foolish.”

“There’s also a reference to China, that it [Shen Yun] can not be performed there, which I think is a shame, because it’s definitely something you have to support,” said business owner Raiko Strauß.

Mr. Gatzer said, “The world can take a little bit more of these messages that are conveyed here, conveyed through dance. I feel empowered by the messages, and I also embrace these values. In that respect, I take a lot with me.”

Wolfgang Weber, a Catholic priest, said, “What inspired me the most was the depth that was in the performance. We were just saying that we both believe in God. That came across really well. I can only recommend that everyone should go and watch it.”

Besides the European countries, Shen Yun is also touring simultaneously in Asia and the United States until May.
