“It's an amazing experience for me,” said David Moakley, owner of Moakley Electric.
He said this was his second time seeing Shen Yun, with his first performance in Honolulu, Hawaii.
“The energy is fantastic. The technology with the background is amazing. And of course, it's always nice to have a live orchestra as well,” Mr. Moakley said.
“It was absolutely exquisite,” said Barbara Davis, a performing artist who operates Little Productions Inc. in San Rafael.
“I think they did such a lovely job when they were bringing the characters in and out of the backgrounds. It was timed impeccably,” Ms. Davis said.
U.S. congressional candidate Wendy Huang was also in attendance.
“It is heavenly, and I really enjoyed it,” Ms. Huang said.
“It's wonderful, especially at the end of the year, and the beginning of a new year, it really gives people hope that there is truth, that there is grace.”
Ken Williams, who was a company vice president in the investment industry, said, “It was like they were floating in midair.”
“It was quite amazing, especially the ladies going across the stage. You couldn't see their feet, and it was like they were gliding on ice. It was fantastic,” Mr. Williams said.
“It was very beautiful, very inspiring, and lovely,” said Richard Holden, who worked as a regional commissioner for the U.S. Department of Labor.
“The performances were really great. I really loved all the dancing and how balletic it was, and I loved all the references to qigong and Tai Chi,” Mr. Holden said.
“It felt like it was coming up from within me, and I could feel the connection,” he added.
Ms. Huang said Shen Yun’s mission is “very important because we need to bring our tradition back.”
“We need to bring what made China beautiful, and that lasted 5,000 years, and that's why it lasted," she stated. "We need to press on and tell the truth and not back down. And you know what, when light shines, darkness disappears.”
Mr. Williams said: “The spirituality portion of it was very important to me. It was very good. It brought everything home, not only bringing back the good times in China, but also just bringing back the religions, being free. It’s so valuable in today's world.”
“I think it's a wonderful idea, and I think it's really great. I really support it,” Mr. Holden said.
“Absolutely come and see it. You won't be disappointed. It's truly amazing,” Mr. Moakley said.
Ms. Huang added: “It is not easy to basically tell the truth. And I just want to thank all the dancers and also this production [for not backing] down.”
Ms. Davis said: “I think it's one of the most beautiful experiences that you can bring to life. People need to have positive reflection, especially now, there's too many things going on that are showing the negative.
“It's very important to show the Divine.”
“We really appreciated what you're trying to do, and I’m blown away that you have so many companies doing this throughout the world. It's a wonderful idea,” Mr. Williams said.
