São Paulo Audience Member Says Shen Yun Is ‘Sensational’

Shen Yun
Shen Yun Performing Arts took the stage in São Paulo, Brazil, on May 3. Since 2006, it has toured the world with a mission to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture and values, which ancient Chinese people believed was a gift from the divine.

What makes Shen Yun even more special is that it has been censored in China by the ruling Chinese Communist Party because the performance shines a light on the party's brutal persecution of faith.

“I think the show was sensational. The vibrant colors and the movements, all the Chinese history, culture, and being able to see a little closer the endurance of Falun Dafa practitioners, it's been very special,” said Flavia Oliveira, a company executive leader. “Through some friends, I already knew a little about the practice and I have a deep admiration for it. I already know a little bit of the history, and seeing the representation here today is very special, and without a doubt, it touches me in a very special way.”

Fabricio Oliveira, a department director, said, “I found it impressive. I found the show very impactful. It brings us a different perspective than we currently have from China and of Chinese culture.”

“It has spoken about how strength comes from within. No doubt about it, that it touches all of us. We'll definitely leave here transformed in some way too,” she said.

Shen Yun currently has eight companies simultaneously traveling the world to showcase traditional Chinese dance and music. Every season, they bring an all-new program for audiences to enjoy. Shen Yun also travels with a live orchestra that combines both classical Chinese instruments and Western instruments.

“The colors really caught my attention. The sound, the music, and each instrument is a cultural treasure that really needs to be known. It was very good,” said Suzeli Damaceno, a consultant.

“I really liked the orchestra, I thought they were fantastic. I think it's the icing on the cake,” said business consultant Flavio Bueno de Aguiar.
