To ring in the new year, many people have experienced Shen Yun Performing Arts at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco. Shen Yun currently has eight companies simultaneously touring the world.

Anastasiia Popova, founder of AOkay Marketing, enjoyed the performance on Jan. 2.

“It is so beautiful. It's super breathtaking,” Ms. Popova said.

“I was very impressed with the music and how everything really flowed, and they told a story. It's a very unique experience. I really liked it,” she said.

Heydi Robledo, director of Joshley Modeling School, was also in attendance.

“This is new for me, and it's an amazing experience,” Ms. Robledo said. “I'm just like, ‘wow,’ every single time.”

“I really, really recommend it to everyone in the Bay Area to come and see this beautiful performance,” she said.

Ms. Robledo watched Shen Yun with Irina Lanskaia.

“It’s just amazing. I can’t understand how they do it,” said Ms. Lanskaia, an entrepreneur and model. “This is super beautiful.”

"I love the colors. I loved everything about it,” said Shauna Graham, a company founder in the tech industry. “Everybody's so talented.”

The New York-based Shen Yun aims to revive 5,000 years of authentic traditional Chinese culture through Classical Chinese dance, music, and its patented digital backdrop, drawing praise from the San Francisco audience.

“That was probably one of my favorite parts,” Ms. Graham said, adding that Shen Yun was “aspirational and one of a kind.”

Sam Link, a company senior director, said he was inspired by Shen Yun.

“It was wonderful to see the history laid out with the message based in faith and how that came across. I thought that was really beautiful,” Mr. Link said.

“I never experienced something like that,” Ms. Graham said.

“Seeing how they interact and encourage the people to be compassionate, to be loving, caring, and that also brought hope. I thought that was nice,” Mr. Link added.

“I connected most with love at the end of the day,” social media expert Ms. Popova said.

“That everyone is here, and we're all serving some sort of purpose and mission and everyone's doing everything because of love at the end of the day,” she said.
