“It's by far probably the best comprehensive performance I've ever seen in my life with ballet or symphony—everything. It's probably the best performance ever. Just beautiful,” Mary Thayer, an acupuncture clinic owner, said.
“The backdrop was really unique,” James Lutz, an automation engineer, said. “It's interesting to see how technology has really come into performances like that. Before, you'd have to move a lot of things around to get it to happen, so it seemed to flow really well. And it was very unique to see how the actors jumped onto the screen and then jumped off. It was really cool to watch.”
“It's pretty amazing. I've been to China twice and seen some of the history but to see the dance was great,” Mike Wolbers, a financial advisor, said.
“It's so badly needed. We've gone so far away from anything spiritual or significant. Our culture right now is probably … you could compare it to Disneyland, where everything is so superficial and meaningless on a certain level. I think they're trying to find something more meaningful, but we've lost our way, and I'm hoping that this type of performance will help develop that here,” Ms. Thayer said.
“The Chinese people have a tremendous ancient history and have brought the world so many inventions and knowledge. And your history is remarkable and I, like my wife, really enjoy getting a picture of your history going way back,” Roger Volbrecht, a former business management professional, said.
“It was just an amazing experience,” Mr. Lutz said. “All of the dancers, the performers, it was just amazing how much they were able to accomplish. They're very talented.”
