Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage with two performances in Berlin, Germany, on Jan. 28 and 29. Audience members admired the beauty of the performance and were captivated by the artistry.

“I truly find it magical, beautiful stories are being told. The graphics flow into one another, and the harmony between the dancing, the background imagery, and stage design is simply beautiful,” said Andreas Trautwein, head of the Federal Highway Authority Department.

Jürgen Witt, an opera singer, said: “Whether it was the singing, the instrumental music, the dancing, or the stunning cinemascope visuals I saw, everything was truly unique. It achieved a level of perfection that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.”

“I was deeply impressed and almost overwhelmed by the precision, the virtuosity, the colors, the technique, and acrobatics. I can only say that it is truly great artistry,” said Friederike Sehmsdorf, an art historian and gallery owner.

Thomas Eschke, a legal adviser, said: “The dance groups displayed remarkable synchronicity, and the artistry was performed with an effortless grace that was beautiful. It’s simply beautiful.”

“Unbelievable, I’m completely impressed,” said Claudia Scharf, a choreographer. “The choreography, the way it’s performed, and the quality of movement are impressive. I read about the dance system, and it’s unbelievably beautiful. It’s distinct, unique, and truly beautiful.”

Shen Yun draws inspiration from China’s 5,000 years of traditional culture and virtues from before communism. Ancient Chinese people believed that culture was inspired by the divine. Audience members took note of a deeper message in the performance.

“Many individual stories depict a strong sense of community, togetherness, mutual care, and looking out for one another. These values are being caring, respect, especially for the elderly, and a deep consideration for others. I believe this carries a timely message, and something that is often lacking in many parts of our society,” said Stefan Kirschner, a financial adviser.

Werner Molik, a business owner, said: “In terms of content, I was struck by the duality between the divine and the devilish. This realization stays with me, prompting deeper reflection even after the performance has ended.”

“In terms of artistic expression, it was incredibly rich and vibrant. What I found particularly captivating was how it portrayed both contemporary and [traditional] Chinese ways of life, allowing the contrast to be showcased,” said Sven Lachhein, a business owner.

René Puttkammer, vice president of operations at a company, said: “This is our first time experiencing Chinese culture in this way, and it’s truly fascinating. I would recommend it to everyone.”

Shen Yun will continue to perform in Berlin, Germany, until Feb. 2.
