On the evening of March 18, Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage in the charming northern French city of Amiens. Theatergoers praised the production’s stunning artistry and world-class music, saying it both entertained and offered a meaningful glimpse into traditional Chinese culture and values.

Thibault Haine, a senior executive at E.Leclerc, said, “From the very first scene, when the curtain rises, it’s so vibrant, it fills you with joy. Watching the performance, you can really feel a sense of prosperity, and honestly, you leave feeling nothing but happy.”

Laetitia Fabre, a doctor, said, “It’s magnificent, breathtaking. The dancers are extraordinary, and the music is beautiful. The digital backdrop makes the performance even more vivid, and the coordination between the visuals and the dancers is stunning.”

“From a technical standpoint, it’s extremely impressive. You’re dazzled by the colors and scenes, and the explanations between each segment really help you understand the performance. The artists are exceptional, the music is outstanding, the orchestra is of the highest technical mastery, and its synchronization with the scenes is remarkable. You’re captivated from beginning to end,” said Mr. Haine.

“I have never seen Chinese dance of this caliber before,” said Ms. Fabre.

“Extraordinary. You can truly grasp everything the presenters explained beforehand through the dance itself. Really, it’s extraordinary, in one word, extraordinary,” said Didier Farand, a former ambulance coordinator.

Shen Yun aims to revive China’s 5,000-year-old, divinely inspired culture as it existed before communism, which is why the company can’t perform in China. Audience members said they felt delighted as they were transported into this ancient culture.

“The connection between Heaven and Earth was very pleasant, and you naturally get drawn into it, feeling like you want to travel along with it,” said Mr. Haine.

“What touched me most was the way they pass on—or used to pass on—the values they uphold,” said Mr. Farand. “Then there’s the political interference that disrupts this passing on of values. The current Chinese government isn’t particularly open to culture and religion.”

Shen Yun will be performing in the historic and cultural city of Lyon, France, from April 6  to April  12.
