At the Berlioz Opera House in Montpellier, France, Shen Yun Performing Arts graced the stage on March 28, taking the audience on a journey through 5,000 years of divinely inspired Chinese culture. A theatregoer praised the show as “a magic blend of dance, colour, and faith.”

Emmanuel Reda, a municipal councillor, said, “I greatly appreciated it. My wife has wanted to see it for years too, so we bought tickets in September to ensure we had seats, and we truly enjoyed ourselves. My wife and I really ... we genuinely appreciated it. It was an enchanting moment, a moment of pure pleasure.”

Anatoli Chapovalov, a certified expert translator of the French Ministry of Justice, said, “It’s something extraordinary, and nothing compares to what Shen Yun does. It really is a magic blend of dance, colour, and faith. It is magical because there are some extraordinary things, and a great culture that we discover. I also see some truly excellent classic pieces.”

Georges Mecs, a hotel director, said, “Magnificent, magnificent! This is my first experience, and I genuinely encourage everyone to come and see the show. It’s something grand, really very grand.”

Michel Bakri, a former director, said, “A stunning display of ancient China and Chinese civilization. The costumes, the colours, the whole choreography is really well orchestrated. Everything is precise to the millimeter.”

Audience members praised Shen Yun’s artistry.

“It’s enchanting. You can see that years and years of work have gone into it. It’s a truly exceptional, beautiful show,” Mr. Reda said.

“In terms of artistry, they are true professionals; there’s nothing to criticize, and I must admit they are true professionals,” Mr. Chapovalov said.

“Honestly, hats off to them! It was a truly beautiful performance, with truly beautiful artists,” Mr. Mecs said.

“The depth of it really touches you. It truly touches the heart. I sense benevolence, gratitude, and a warm, gentle welcome,” Mr. Bakri said.

“The female and male dancers, the music, all lead to a state of inner tranquility,” Mr. Reda said.

The audience extended their gratitude for the show’s portrayal of faith and the Divine.

“There is a sense of purity and peace, and I notice that there are also aspects of faith and belief. In our modern lives, I think we really miss this. Thanks for bringing us things like this,” Mr. Chapovalov said.

“I experienced many emotions. It’s the emotion that comes out with all the hard work that’s gone into it, the set, the costumes, and the entire Chinese heritage that really transports us to another world,” Mr. Mecs said.

“These are great human and philosophical values. We are transported to another world, for me I was,” Mr. Bakri said.

“Divine art. The show truly is. Honestly, sometimes I feel like I’m flying. It’s very nice and ... very touching,” Mr. Chapovalov said.

“I believe it is a culture entirely different from ours. But how inspiring it is! It really serves as a great example for us,” Mr. Mecs said.

“If everyone could witness this performance, if everyone understood that culture, dance, and music have the power to calm people ... perhaps there would be fewer wars. That’s a hopeful wish I have. We are currently going through a challenging time, and I believe that shows like this can offer a lot to people. However, we need to keep moving in its direction; it’s the right way forward,” Mr. Reda said.
