“It was beautiful, exquisite, the costumes, and the history. Just recounting the history of the traditions and the flourishing of the Chinese culture before communism. Very stark contrast,” said Beth Barrett, a news editor-in-chief.
“The music, absolutely amazing. And actually, what I found very enchanting about the music, that it almost brought me to a meditative state. So I thought ‘wow,’ it was relaxing and beautiful at the same time,” Ms. Williams said.
“The elegance of everything, from the costumes to the integration with the animation, which was really surprising. I had no idea that animation could be so well integrated and add so much, because you’d think it’s animation, versus this elegant beauty, real, and the way that it came together, and the creativity of it was really extraordinary,” said Martin Barrett, a news media founder.
“It’s very important, and there’s some wonderful principles and truths about Chinese culture that are shared across many different faiths, many different traditions. And to see them expressed in this particular situation is really beautiful, so I hope it keeps continuing,” Mr. Barrett said.
“I like the approach ... the awareness to the world. How China is still a communist country, and how ordinary people are suppressed. And your approach to bring that awareness is very classy, but still going on,” said Marina Early, a real estate agent.
“The courage displayed by the dancers, and knowing most of those dancers, probably they have family in China and the persecution I know that even the dancing team has faced. I just think the courage to continue to express this beautiful, marvelous story in the face of persecution and threats as marvelous,” Ms. Barrett said.
