Shen Yun Performing Arts showcased the spirit of ancient Chinese civilization through classical Chinese dance and music in Sevilla, Spain, on March 18 and 20. Among those in the audience were members of the Andalusia parliament, who applauded Shen Yun’s artistry.

“I think it's artistically marvelous,” said Ana Chocano Román, who is a Andalusia member of parliament. “The excellent coordination among all the artists in every act, their mastery of all the techniques, and their remarkable skill in using costume elements are incredibly pleasing.”

“It has left us all speechless, with the amount of professional artists accompanied by music that takes us completely to China and the history of this country, to know their customs, traditions, and a little more about how they live there,” Member of Parliament Auxiliadora Izquierdo Paredes said.

“I found it impressive. I liked how that orchestra blended with the movements of the artists. I liked the subtlety, the vibrancy, and the harmony. I liked how they transmitted their tradition, the Chinese tradition, through the music,” parliament comptroller general Manuela Moro García said. “I also give special mention to the tenor, the soloist, and the pianist, it’s truly impressive. The soloist with an instrument with two strings left me amazed.”

Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance company, on a mission to revive 5,000 years of divinely-inspired civilization from "China before communism." Theatergoers expressed their appreciation for Shen Yun’s efforts, and felt the importance of the virtues showcased on stage.

“It's important to portray because China is an ancient country; a country of many people, with many inhabitants. And it's very important to portray everything that China is—not just the China we're getting to know, the communist China,” Member of Parliament Rafa Ruiz Guzmán said.

“Ensuring [that tradition] is not lost is fundamental to me. We should respect traditions, nurture them, and protect them. And a performance that truly protects [tradition] like this is fabulous,” Member of Parliament Lola Martín Nieto said.

Shen Yun recognizes “the importance of continuing to remember our values every day, and above all, of continuing to carry on our traditions and feeling proud of them,” parliament lawyer Teresa Blanco Amador said.

Shen Yun will be performing in Toulon, France, from April 2  through April 6.
