Dedicated to reviving a culture once nearly lost, Shen Yun Performing Arts uses classical Chinese dance and music to tell the story of China’s rich heritage. Audience members in Prague, Czech Republic, were taken on a journey through time in Shen Yun’s performance on April 30.

“Incredible purity, beauty, precision, professionalism, tenderness. And I'm completely amazed and thank you so much for that. I've been very inspired,” said Andrea Straková, a choreographer. “The artists are of a very high standard, and it's very precise, clean, and synchronous. I think it's a great piece of work to see and they are almost perfect. I would also like to highlight the lightness of the jumps and the acrobatics. It’s really beautiful.”

“It was amazing, I enjoyed it so much. It was a fantastic artistic performance. I would say that it was a free Chinese culture shown and the movements there are just perfect. It’s just absolute perfection,” said Karel Janeček, an author and mathematician.

“Perfect, gorgeous, beautiful colors, and very beautiful,” said Pavel Šilhánek, a business owner.

Shen Yun started in 2006 and now has eight companies simultaneously touring the globe, with a mission to revive 5,000 years of divinely inspired traditional Chinese culture and values from before communism. Currently, Shen Yun cannot perform in China, because of the light it shines on the Chinese Communist Party’s human rights abuses, and brutal persecution of faith.

“I like the courage, because I understand that this is not desirable in China, and I like the spread of traditional Chinese culture. Personally, I think it's a great contribution to the whole world,” said Straková. “For people to be kind, to cooperate with each other, not to just succumb to technology and robotization and the dictates of the one that is being shown to us here today. Thank you very much, and I took away great love.”

“This is amazing that they are so successful, that it grew from one place so fast,” said Janeček. “I think this mission is extremely valuable and it is an extremely important thing. I give all my wishes for it to be great and successful.”

“It's sad because it's art that comes from China, and so it should be seen in China,” said Šilhánek. “I wish them all the best. Let them continue what they started. And most importantly, that the situation improves for China as well.”

Shen Yun is also performing in Paris, France until May 11.
