PORTO ALEGRE, Brazil—Shen Yun Performing Arts gave a performance in Porto Alegre on May 10, transporting audiences on a journey through ancient China. Theatergoers were moved by performers’ artistry and shared their impressions of the show.

“I found the performance very emotional. You become dazzled by so many colors, such precision, the movements are beautiful, everything is incredible, and it was absolutely worth coming to see the show,” Paulo Henrique, a content creator, said.

“I’m finding it incredible, the synchronization of the dancers, the lightness they have, it truly is a wonderful show,” Gabriela Herrera Lendorf Martins, also a content creator, said.

“I was very surprised because I was expecting a ballet and, actually, what I found were wonderful narratives, fables telling the trajectory of China, of the Chinese people. And I was enchanted, not only by the choreography, by the technique, but by the beauty of the scenery, the costumes, and especially the stories,” Iara Tonidandel, a photographer, said.

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from “China before communism.” Theatergoers also commented on the beauty of the performance.

“I love seeing all the history of China that they are conveying. Sometimes we don’t know that much, so through the whole presentation, with its lightness, we can understand the whole story. It’s been amazing,” Ms. Martins said.

Andry Pierina, a content creator, said, “Simply beautiful, enchanting, wonderful. It’s inspiring, it’s a ray of hope for all of us, both in the West and the East, in every country they manage to reach. I thought the message they bring—with so much poetry, such delicacy and strength, and also so much virtue in every movement, in every art form they perform—was simply wonderful.”

Ms. Tonidandel said, “A performance with such a long duration, with so many wonderful narratives and a cycle of beginning and rebirth, very impactful. I thought it was very, very beautiful indeed.”

Shen Yun has concluded its 2026 Latin American tour and will be returning next year with an all-new production.
