Shen Yun Performing Arts took audiences in São Paulo, Brazil, on a journey through ancient China on May 1, captivating theatergoers with a revival of 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism.

Fernando Fonseca, a business owner, said, “I loved it. I think China is a country that has many mysteries and many revelations. It is very nice to see a bit of this nice side of their culture and the wonderful production. It is truly a recommendable experience, I recommend everyone to attend.”

“We found it spectacular. All the dancers, all the artists were very incredible. All very well prepared. The costumes are exceptional,” said Camila Ota Hisayasu Shingo, a physician.

Shen Yun also features singers in the bel canto style, which left a strong impression on many of the audience members.

Mr. Fonseca said, “I found it amazing. I think she reached levels where I thought she was using a microphone. I kept looking for a microphone, but there wasn’t one. It was really through her talent and her effort. I loved it. Very good.”

Elaine Coelho, a singer and a vocal teacher, said, “I thought it was beautiful, very powerful, and technically perfect. I really enjoyed it.”

Finding its roots in the Divine, ancient Chinese culture and values come to life in Shen Yun’s performances through classical Chinese dance, music, and storytelling.

Maria Isabel Antonini, a company CEO, said, “It is very clear, the connection with values, with truth, with God, with spirituality. Without any doubt, it completes the beauty of the performance. It is evident, we can perceive it through the emotion that the dancers and the musicians convey.”

Gleice Oliveira da Silva, a lawyer, said, “I think about how much they must have rehearsed for this. The work required to achieve this level of harmony, not only in the orchestra, but also in the harmony of the body movements and even the soul of each performer.”

“I would like to say that they are true warriors and that they should continue with this strength. Their work will be eternalized and remembered for decades here in Brazil,” said Stefanny Papaiano, a lawyer and a political commentator.

Shen Yun will be performing in Porto Alegre, Brazil, on May 9 and May 10.
