Shen Yun Performing Arts showcased the spirit of ancient Chinese civilization through classical Chinese dance, music, and storytelling in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on Feb. 22 and 23. The artistry captivated audience members.

Harry van Bommel, a former parliament member, said Shen Yun was "breathtaking."

"I enjoyed it from the first to the last minute," Mr. van Bommel said.

"It’s also nice that it consists of small episodes, short stories, with explanations beforehand, so you understand everything," he said. "Beautiful music, great dance, and fantastic projected decor that moves and feels alive."

Wil Post, who is a company president, expressed similar sentiments.

“As if you enter a fairy tale and become a part of it. It’s absolutely beautiful,” Ms. Post said.

André Straathof, a former project manager, said he found the "choreography very beautiful."

"The costumes and what they can do with the clothing, I thought that was very special,” he added.

Jan Marc Verstegen, who is a business owner, said: “The music with the live orchestra, and especially the video transactions of the dance, which transitions into the video and back again, that was really amazing.”

Since 2006, Shen Yun has toured the world with a mission to revive 5,000 years of divinely inspired traditional Chinese culture from before communism. This effort was warmly embraced by theatergoers, such as Mr. van Bommel, who felt the importance of the values showcased on stage.

“Letting go of earthly possessions, which we all find important here in the history of humanity, that doesn’t matter," he said.

"What matters is being there for each other and reflecting on the meaning of life, which you see much more in Eastern culture than in the Western world, where there is little time for that nowadays. I also see this reflected in the theater, and I find it fantastic to experience,” he said.

Ron Bol, a business owner, spoke on the importance of traditions.

“That’s good, that’s where it all began. Sometimes I think we could return to those old times, when [traditions] were more honored,” he said.

Ms. Post recommended that people come to watch Shen Yun.

“This is an experience that is definitely worth the effort. You really shouldn’t miss it. Yes, absolutely,” she said.

Shen Yun will perform in Ávila, Spain, on Feb. 26 and 27.
