Shen Yun Performing Arts brought 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture from before communism to the stage in Rome, Italy, on Feb. 1. Rome City Councilor Federico Rocca marked the occasion by presenting Shen Yun with a commemorative medal.

“The dancers are fantastic; they have harmony, coordination, and preparation that really amazes," Mr. Rocca said.

"I would also like to compliment the orchestra because the union of these Eastern and Western instruments is a very beautiful and harmonious mix,” he said.

“It’s a very important mission that must be carried out because China has a millennia-long history that must be told and represented.”

Giorgio Amato, a film director, said he was most impressed by the costumes and the interaction between the dance and the backdrop digital screen.

"The way they, along with the orchestra, synchronized the dance with the visual effects was truly remarkable in the show,” Mr. Amato said.

Federica Gavazza, a medical scientist, said that “the show was wonderful and unique, offering an enriching cultural enrichment that we deeply appreciated.”

Finding its roots in the Divine, ancient Chinese culture and values come to life in Shen Yun’s performances through classical Chinese dance, music, and storytelling. Their efforts were embraced by theatergoers.

Mr. Rocca said Shen Yun gives “a message of serenity, it conveys an inner peace and a reminder of the spiritual values that I think are necessary in today’s world.”

Olivier Bidet, a medical scientist, said Shen Yun has “a message of peace and of support for each other. It’s harmony, a spirit of harmony together.”

Lucrezia Leomporra, a dentist, said the performance offered a glimpse into an unfamiliar world.

"It beautifully showcased the femininity, grace, and elegance of the dancers," Dr. Leomporra said.

It has left a lasting impression and a strong desire to experience it again, she said.

Barbara Nappini, an organization president, said, "May they continue creating this magic, as together they truly create an enchanting experience.”

Shen Yun will continue to perform in Rome until Feb. 5.
