Shen Yun Performing Arts brought 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture to the stage in Guadalajara, Mexico, on May 10. The world’s premier classical Chinese dance company aims to show the world the beauty of China from a time before communism.

“I think it’s a show you should come see. I think it touches your heart,” said Gonzalo López Díaz, a business owner. “It makes you reflect on many things. I think it’s a very important time to come and enjoy a show like this, and you leave filled with something that has touched your heart and connected you with God," he said.

“I think what really caught my attention were the colors. I feel like they convey a lot of artistry in the clothing, which is very different from what we usually see here in Mexico,” said Camila Cardenas Villalobos, an artist.

“It’s very beautiful. It is really a very beautiful show, and it’s very worthwhile. The coordination they have is incredible; you can see the hours of work that the dancers have put in. It’s very disciplined and very beautiful,” said Luis Guillermo Gizar Tirado, a business owner.

Since 2006, Shen Yun has toured the world with a mission to revive 5,000 years of divinely inspired traditional Chinese culture and values. Audience members had high praise for their mission and felt their values still remain important in today’s society.

“[Traditional culture] represents something very important for us, for our family, for our society. And above all, congratulations on this kind of show,” said Mr. Díaz.

“It’s very beautiful that they have the discipline to do this. I think it’s much, much more [difficult] than a sport. It’s a skill that I don’t think everyone can have,” said Ms. Villalobos.

“It’s a very interesting and beautiful performance. I really think it’s great that we can learn about other cultures through shows like this,” said Mr. Tirado.

Shen Yun successfully concluded their 2025 world tour on May 11 and will bring an all-new program next season, including new dances, music, and stories for audiences to enjoy.
