“You can’t get that level of skill unless you have a great deal of dedication. That doesn’t happen in ten minutes. It hasn’t happened in ten years,” said Bill Brooks, a pastor. “I have a great deal of admiration for their drive and their intensity and the love of what they do, and that they should be very proud that they are doing what they were created for.”
“It was just amazing. I was in awe with just the entire performance, just the dance is just unbelievable. I would like to do it again. I just hardly have any words. It was just the music, the colors, that amazing talent, so amazing,” said Helene Kitching, a seniors activities coordinator.
Victor Herbert, a former provincial rehabilitation advisor said, “It’s stupendous. I don’t know what to say about it, but I just wish I could have danced like that.”
“They’re just marvelous. It’s called the way they do the animation into the live action. I’ve never seen something like that before. And that’s great, very innovative. And I’m enjoying it immensely,” Mr. Herbert said. “The whole presentation between the dancers and the animation and the music goes along with it. I’m glad we made it.”
Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture. Audience members described deep cultural insights from the performance.
“I’ve learned a lot about the culture just from the presentation and how it’s interpreted in dance,” Mr. Herbert said.
“Beautiful human spirit and beautiful demonstration of the love of God. So I was very blessed by it,” Ms. Kitching said of the performance. “I think it’s a beautiful message that they’re portraying, but so I just really enjoyed this very much.”
Mr. Brooks said, “So many places and so many things in this world right now are trying to steal the life out of us. We have all these electronic gadgets to distract us. Maintain this passion and keep your eye on God’s world.”
“I would definitely say come and see it even if you see it, just it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing to do,” Mr. Herbert said.
