“I loved this show. The choreography is so precise, something I rarely see. And I have a daughter who is a contemporary dancer with major ballet companies. It’s an incredible experience, an explosion of movement on an unimaginable scale, with a dazzling blend of the digital and the real,” said Albert Assayag, a surgeon.
Mouhcine El Bakkali, an ophthalmologist, said, “It was wonderful, honestly. I loved the costumes; the selection was excellent. The dancing, the quality of the show, the music, it was all wonderful. The organization was spot on; they started right on time. I really enjoyed it, honestly.”
Mr. Assayag said, “The synchronization is so striking that it grabs your attention every single time. I think it’s fabulous. There are no other words for it.”
Guillaume Hourdeaux, a notary firm partner, said, “You can see it in their expressions, in their mannerisms, in their gestures. You really sense a great deal of tenderness and kindness; it’s very touching.”
Mr. Bakkali said, “There is a sense of the divine, a sense of spirituality. You feel a sense of peace. It speaks to both body and soul. It’s magnificent.”
Mr. Assayag said, “It’s impossible to achieve such a high level of artistic mastery in both contemporary and classical dance without all the dancers being deeply committed to a monumental undertaking. You can’t dance based solely on technical movements. They have to radiate energy. And you can feel that.”
Based in New York, Shen Yun has been touring the world since 2006, performing in front of millions of people in 200 cities across 20 countries.
Mr. Bakkali said, “These days, with everything going on in the world, we need things like this, things that bring comfort, that remind us of peace, that remind us of love, that remind us of history.”
Maxime Avel, a chocolatier, said, “It was really colorful, we had a great time. The music, the orchestra, everything came together perfectly. We really enjoyed ourselves. So we highly recommend it, and we’ll definitely be back next year.”
