“The way that it was choreographed, the way that the history and the stories and the fables and the fairy tales were told, and merged with past and present. I think it was easy to understand and gave them a good two-hour snippet of 5,000 years of history,” said John McKay, CEO of Concert ICT.
“I think it was the educational component of understanding the history, understanding the traditions, and also the spirituality. I think that the traditional education component is really important. I do think we in the Western world don't understand China. I don't think many of us learn the right history,” said Annalisa Haskell, the founder of Intelligent Industry Collective.
“And then something else that really stood out to me was learning about what Shen Yun means and the history behind it. I thought that was really beautiful and that was something I didn't expect to get to learn about through watching it. So I really loved that,” said Grace Lenan, a professional dancer and model.
“We noticed all the spiritual aspects in there, like a lot, and we really appreciated the little details of some things,” said Chris Alleaume, the yoga studio owner of Bhav.
“I think we all relate to those words like Creator, Divine, divinity, and the spiritual component of that message. Everybody has a role to play in building the highest level of spirituality and love, and that if we all work together, we will create freedom for everybody,” said Ms. Haskell.
“I felt like it was actually quite a beautiful, spiritual message around getting to express yourself freely. And I loved when they explained the meaning of it being, I think they said it was beauty expressed through divine beings,” said Ms. Lenan.
