Talent agent and theater producer Toby Cruse was among the audience watching Shen Yun at Woking’s New Victoria Theatre on Feb. 5.
“The whole production, the color, the movement, and of course, the music was just spectacular and a real testament to the culture and the history of China,” he said.
“Just phenomenal! So impressive to see. Clearly, they're all at the top of their game and highly dedicated, and the music is the same, just wonderful musicianship and great music to accompany the pieces!”
Traditional art forms like music and dance were integrated into Chinese life for thousands of years, expressing benevolence, beauty, and many other virtues. Shen Yun’s mission is to revive that traditional Chinese culture.
Cruse said he was touched by the messages he felt from the performance and will hold on to them for many years to come.
“How to live life purely, how to not be distracted by the noise in our world, and not to deviate from our own path, our own journey,” he said.
He described the performance as “thought-provoking and reassuring.”
