“I really enjoyed it. This is my third time here in a row with my daughter. It’s truly an impressive show, unlike anything else in the world,” said Isabell Rötgen, a management assistant at Aldi Süd.
“We actually come from the opera world; we’re opera fans, and we said we’d just give it a try. And my wife and I are truly thrilled. The dancing alone, the integration of the video effects—simply gorgeous,” said Markus Wesselbaum, a managing partner at his company.
Through classical Chinese dance and music, Shen Yun aims to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture and values, a heritage that was almost lost when the communist regime took over China in 1949.
“The fact that great importance is placed on tradition and faith, that much has definitely been conveyed to us today,” said Sylke Sergel, the head of human resources at her company.
Heinrich Meier, a teacher, said, “Similarly, that tolerance and an interest in mutual exchange, cultural exchange, are essential.”
