On April 12, audience members filled Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre to see Shen Yun Performing Arts give two more shows. Among the theatergoers were radio hosts and executives from Red FM, who described the performance as both breathtaking and spiritually uplifting.

Shabana Lalani, a radio host, shared her awe of the performance. “Don’t miss it. It’s the most amazing show ever. And I think no matter how much I praise it, it’s not enough. Like I used to say, there’s one word for it, and that’s spectacular, but it’s incredible, amazing. It’s so synchronized, the timing is just stunning. It’s unbelievable and extraordinary,” she said. “If someone didn’t see them there, you would think that it’s all recorded. It was so well conducted. They were just quietly, silently in the background. Really made the show alive. It was amazing. You could hear each instrument, even though they were so synchronized with each other. It’s a lot of hard work, because I’ve also been with a choir. I also sing. So I know it’s not easy to do that, but it was a very well-done show.”

Beyond the visual and artistic excellence, the music also had a powerful impact on the audience. Lalani explained, “I’ve always told people don’t don’t blink, don’t close your eyes when you’re looking at the show, you’ll miss something. But even for a minute, if you’re able to close our eyes, I feel we’re spiritually transported somewhere else. The music just has something to your heart. It does something to your senses. It’s not just a show that you enjoy for two hours. You go back home, you’re taking something with you. It’s definitely spiritual.”

Ms. Lalani said she believes Shen Yun provides a unique glimpse into China before communism—an era rich in traditional culture and spiritual values.

“We cannot go back in time, but shows like Shen Yun allow us to experience that era, to witness the beauty and depth of a culture that was once so vibrant,” she said. “The contrast between the modern world and the world that once was is striking, and it’s incredibly impactful to see that through this performance.”

She also expressed her hope that more people could experience this extraordinary show. “I truly hope that this performance reaches more people around the world, especially in China, where it’s not allowed. My wish is for this kind of spirit and culture to spread globally.”

Ms. Lalani emphasized that Shen Yun presents a divine sense of grace and harmony that transcends the ordinary.

“There’s something divine about this show,” she said. “The timing, the synchronization, the hard work—it’s simply beyond what we thought was possible. And to know that every year they present new performances with different songs, I’m truly speechless.”

She concluded with a heartfelt message: “Never, ever miss a show of this caliber, the music, the dancing, the I don’t know what to say. Everything was perfect. Perfect.”

Vandana Guglani, office administrator & executive assistant at Red FM, also shared her thoughts: “All the best. Keep going and congratulations. That’s something I want to say. Keep going like this. So maybe if I get a chance, I will definitely come next year to enjoy the same performances.”
