Zeus Ghadban, an actor and musician, said, “As a performer, I was amazed at how fluid the performance was, how fluid the dancers were, and how graceful they were. Wow, that’s a lot of hours of practice. To become that skilled at anything wasn’t just about body movement. They were aware of every finger, every toe. They were expressing their essence, their spirituality, not just their skills.”
Maycilles Enriquez, a retired nurse, said, “When I was watching it, it kind of transported me into that time era. It felt like I was part of it, I’m in it. It’s just incredibly stunning. The vibrancy of the color, the costumes, and the simplicity, yet very spectacular.”
Sarah Anderson, a college student, said, “The choreography was all so stunning, the way that everybody had something to do, even if they were in the background at the moment—nothing was overlooked.”
Mark Collister, a business owner, said, “It was a side of China we don’t often see. So it was good to learn of that history. ... We can understand what the performers were telling us through their dance and it’s good.”
The audience members found the performance to be an inspirational experience and resonated with the uplifting messages of the show.
Anita Brown, an actress and model, said, “I definitely felt the connection of a longing for something that is in your life, that is divine indeed. And it’s really great to see that there’s a search for something—an understanding of where the truth comes from and how truth can set you free. So, it was really beautiful to see just the connection in the culture that came off stage.”
Tom Wyndels, a retired consultant, said, “I got a message Stride upon the path divine. It’s been an enlightening experience.”
“This will stick with me through my life,” Ms. Anderson said. “Thank you for putting this on and helping to preserve the techniques and the dances.”
Ms. Brown said, “It’s heartbreaking to see such persecution upon faiths that are so not aligned, obviously, with communism, and communism has more control. But the relationship aspect of finding a faith, and bringing back tradition, and bringing that back to the people in a country is something that I love to see.”
Mr. Ghadban said, “The political aspects of China and the idea that free expression is not permitted in communist China—obviously this show doesn’t ... you can’t take the show there. That’s saying something, right?”
