Dieter Franke, a hotel director, said, “I think tradition is what grounds us all. And the opportunity to bring tradition closer to all of us is incredibly important. Especially in what I would call a very, very fast-paced time, it’s important to remember where it all began.”
“What I particularly liked was the structure, the different stories, and also the idea that anything is possible. You can fly, you can transform, and human potential is portrayed on different levels. And what touched me most at the end was the feeling that we all go home with a sense of redemption,” said Claudia Klein, a company owner.
“Extraordinary. I really didn’t know what to expect. It was the first time I’d ever seen a concert or event like this, and it was gigantic, absolutely gigantic,” said Andreas Fellnhofer, a business owner.
Shen Yun is accompanied by a live orchestra that seamlessly integrates traditional Chinese and Western instruments to create a unique musical experience.
Mr. Fellnhofer said, “The most impressive thing I saw, I don’t know the name of this instrument, which the woman played on her own. [The Erhu] It’s so extraordinary that you really wonder how that works.”
“It’s incredible that you can produce such music with this instrument, and the devotion, the singing was also fantastic,” said Ms. Klein.
“Ultimately, it’s about remembering from within, reconnecting with the Divine, and rediscovering one’s own inner strength. And they succeeded wonderfully in that, and I enjoyed it immensely. It’s incredibly relevant right now,” said Ms. Klein.
“Wonderful. I have to say, I’m absolutely thrilled. A fantastic combination of dance, acrobatics, and history. I think the [animated backdrop] is incredibly awesome. So exciting. Incredibly beautiful,” said Mr. Franke.
