Some Syrian survivors of the suspected sarin gas attack described their symptoms, Wednesday, April 5.

At least 15 attack survivors were taken to a hospital in Reyhanli, Turkey for treatment. While there they spoke to journalists.

“We were affected by the gas,” said one victim, Veda Ajej. We couldn’t stand up. I felt dizzy and nauseous. I suffered from shortness of breath. I couldn’t breathe.”

All the victims described being short of breath, nauseous, and dizzy after the attack.

Though Syria denies using chemical agents and claims it had no planes near the attack site, the United States said it believes sarin was used, and that the attacks were almost certainly carried out by forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The attack killed about 70 people including about a dozen children.
