Singer Taylor Swift has made a $100,000 donation to a GoFundMe page set up for the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the sole fatal victim in Wednesday’s mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory parade.

During the shooting, 22 other people were injured, at least half of whom were under 16, with the youngest shooting victim being 8, police said.

Ms. Lopez-Galvan, the daughter of a locally famous mariachi musician, was a popular DJ in the local Hispanic community and a co-host of a weekly radio show on local station KKFI 90.1 called “A Taste of Tejano.”

A GoFundMe page was set up Thursday afternoon with the goal of raising $75,000 for the victim’s family.

Some 1,300 people had made donations when two consecutive $50,000 donations—the maximum donation cap—from Ms. Swift sent the fundraising total beyond the intended goal in the early hours of Friday morning.

“Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift,” the singer wrote.

A representative for Ms. Swift confirmed to Variety that it was indeed the singer who had made the donations from Melbourne, Australia, in the early evening, shortly before the beginning of a performance.

At the moment of writing, the fundraiser for Ms. Lopez-Galvan’s family has surpassed a quarter of a million dollars from 2,800 donations.

“She was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many,” the GoFundMe page read. “We ask that you continue to keep her family in your prayers as we grieve the loss of her life.”

The 44-year-old Ms. Lopez-Galvan is survived by two children and a husband of 22 years.

Around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, a bullet hit Ms. Lopez-Galvan in the abdomen. Initial reports said she passed away during surgery, but later reports clarified that she died at the scene.

Both of the victim’s children were present when the shooting happened. Ms. Lopez-Galvan’s son Marc, who is in his 20s, was also wounded but has since been released from a local hospital; her teenage daughter Adriana escaped being hit.

The exact circumstances behind the shooting remain unclear, although officials have ruled out the possibility of a terrorist attack. Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said on Thursday that the shooting was likely the result of a “dispute between several people.”

Three people, including two juveniles, were initially detained, but one has since been released.

County prosecutor Jean Peters Baker said Thursday morning that she would do everything she could to prosecute those responsible.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, who was also present at the celebration, thanked the police for their bravery and swift response.

“When the shooting started. I, like many others, ran and ran for safety. I saw a number of agencies, including the Kansas City Police Department, officers with guns drawn who were running toward danger. We thank them for that,” he said.
