President Donald Trump has revealed plans to host a Fourth of July rally in the nation’s capital dubbed “Tribute to America.”
Trump said on social media Monday that it will be a major celebration to “honor our Country's People, Spirit, Strength, Resolve, and Triumphs” at the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.
The event, which will kick off at 7 p.m. ET, will include the “LARGEST FIREWORKS SHOW IN HISTORY” and sweeping displays of the U.S. military, according to Trump.
More than 300 members of military bands, orchestras and ceremonial units will perform patriotic songs and American classics, the president added.
Trump noted that the Fourth of July event would be staged against the backdrop of the Lincoln Memorial and the recently renovated Reflecting Pool, a project in which he took a personal interest.
Trump’s Fourth of July tribute will culminate a summer-long series of events tied to the 250th anniversary of American independence.
This year’s rally and fireworks display resemble Trump's “Salute to America” event held on July 4, 2019, in Washington, which featured a presidential speech at the Lincoln Memorial along with military demonstrations and aircraft flyovers.
Trump’s plans to host the Fourth of July event in the nation’s capital follow his attendance at the first-ever martial arts fights held on the White House South Lawn dubbed "UFC Freedom 250," a seven-fight series by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which coincided with Flag Day and his 80th birthday.
