President Donald Trump wants to tackle a health care overhaul before reforming the tax code.

He made comments in an interview with Fox Business Network’s Mornings with Maria.

“We’re going to have a much better plan than Obamacare which is failing,” Trump told Fox’s Maria Bartiromo. “We’re saving tremendous amounts of money on health care when we get this done, number one, and most importantly actually we’re going to have great health care.”

“Health care is going to happen at some point. Now if it doesn’t start fast enough, I’ll start the taxes. But the tax reform and the tax cuts are better if I can do healthcare first,” he added.

Trump hopes he can put the money saved from health care reform into tax reform.

Tax reform is expected to finish before year end. If the president gets his wish, a health care overhaul could come before then.
