The United Auto Workers union has again escalated its strike action against the Big 3 automakers.
The UAW says 6,800 members walked out of the Stellantis assembly plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan on Monday, effectively shutting down the facility—which is a huge profit center for the company.
The latest strike action comes just three days after UAW president Shawn Fain reported progress in talks with General Motors and Stellantis, but said the companies will have to make better offers.
