US Police officer forgets gun in carry-on bag

Police officer Nell Grant travels prepared—but she wasn’t prepared to be stopped by airport security in Taiwan for carrying an illegal firearm.

The 43-year-old California officer had forgotten her pistol was in her carry-on bag. It showed up at a security screening in Taiwan, where she was transferring to a flight to Bangkok, Thailand.

She was immediately seized by security and is still in detention.

Private gun ownership is basically illegal in Taiwan. Only a very small number of people are permitted to own hunting rifles, otherwise, the nation is firearm-free.
