White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Friday that she's expecting a second child with her husband, Nicholas Ricco, describing it as the "greatest Christmas gift" they could ask for.
Leavitt revealed on social media that they're expecting a baby girl in May 2026. The couple's son, Niko, was born in July 2024.
Leavitt shared several photos in her announcement, including an image of the ultrasound and another one of herself proudly holding her baby bump in front of a Christmas tree.
The White House press secretary also expressed gratitude to President Donald Trump for supporting family values.
"I am also extremely grateful to President Trump and our Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support, and for fostering a pro-family environment in the White House," Leavitt added.
While Trump most often speaks for himself, Leavitt has been tasked with elaborating to the media and the American public what the president's remarks could mean for the country and promoting his America First agenda. As press secretary, she acts as the president's primary messenger, hosting press briefings and appearing on television interviews.
The New Hampshire native previously worked as a White House assistant press secretary during Trump's first term and as his national spokeswoman for his third presidential campaign. The president ultimately tapped her to serve as press secretary after he won his second White House term.
Leavitt gave birth to her first child three days before an assassination attempt on Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania last July, but returned to work shortly after.
Leavitt on social media has touted her love of motherhood.
During an interview with Fox News Digital about her growing family, the expecting mother talked about the importance of having a support system at work.
“Nearly all of my West Wing colleagues have babies and young children, so we all really support one another as we tackle raising our families while working for the greatest president ever," Leavitt said.
