The Washington National Cathedral announced notable guests for the Nov. 20 service to honor Cheney's life and legacy.

Former President George W. Bush is among those scheduled to deliver tributes during the funeral service for former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Bush and other dignitaries are set to attend the service at Washington National Cathedral on Nov. 20.

Cheney served as Bush's vice president during both of his White House terms.

Cheney’s daughter, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), will also pay tribute to his life and legacy, along with his grandchildren.

Pete Williams, former Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs and former NBC News Justice Correspondent, and Dr. Jonathan Reiner, Cheney's longtime cardiologist and Professor of Medicine and Surgery at George Washington University, are also on the speakers' list.

According to the venue, only guests who were invited will be allowed to attend the service.

"Security measures will be in place to ensure the health and safety of the staff and guests in attendance," according to a release by the Cathedral.

The historic church in the nation's capital has served as a venue for state funerals, memorials, and presidential prayer services.

Washington National Cathedral has hosted state funerals for Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, George H.W. Bush, and most recently, Jimmy Carter.

“Vice President Cheney devoted decades of his life to public service at the highest levels of government,” said The Very Rev. Randolph Marshall Hollerith, dean of the cathedral, in a written statement. “His life was marked by deep dedication to his family and to the country he served. We pray for his family and all who loved him.”

Other clergy participating in the funeral service include the Reverend Canon Jan Naylor Cope, provost of cathedral; the Reverend Canon Rosemarie Logan Duncan, canon precentor of the cathedral; and the Reverend Joshua Armstrong-Walters, rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church.

Cheney died at the age of 84 on Nov. 3 due to complications from pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease.

The prominent Republican served as vice president in the Bush administration from 2001-09, during which he played a major role in shaping U.S. foreign policy. As the main architect of the U.S. invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, Cheney pushed spy agencies to find evidence to justify military action. Cheney was arguably the administration's biggest proponent of the Patriot Act, the law enacted after the Sept. 11 attacks that granted the U.S. government sweeping surveillance powers.

In addition to his tenure as vice president, Cheney served as Secretary of Defense from 1989 to 1993.

He also worked as White House chief of staff for former President Gerald Ford from 1975 to 1977 and as U.S. Representative for Wyoming from 1979 to 1989. Cheney began his career in Washington in 1969 as a congressional fellow.
