A giant rabbit died aboard United Airlines. The rabbit was 3.5 feet long and weighed 20 pounds. According to lawyer Guy Cook, it was set on becoming bigger than its father, the largest rabbit in the world, potentially weighing 40 pounds.

It could have taken the biggest rabbit crown. The lawyer for the group that bought the rabbit was unsatisfied with the response from the airline.

Guy Cook, the lawyer representing the rabbit owners, spoke about the circumstances around the death.

“Whatever the cause of the death, the fact that Simon was cremated immediately after his death was discovered is strong circumstantial proof that there was something wrong here and frankly reckless disregard for the rights of the Simon group and indicative, as I said, of negligent care.”

Guy Cook also spoke about how he feels this is a larger issue of pet air transportation.

“This is particularly troubling. This is his quote: ‘We are deeply sorry for the loss of anything, from your luggage to, of course, a loved pet.’ And as you can see it’s a very insensitive comment equating a pet to the loss of luggage.”
