Scott Brown, a former U.S. ambassador to New Zealand and a former U.S. senator for Massachusetts, joined NTD to discuss Spain’s closure of its airspace to U.S. planes involved in Operation Epic Fury.

The ambassador discussed possible U.S. responses, the critical proximity of Spain as a refueling point for U.S. forces in the region, and President Donald Trump’s new threats to “complete obliterate” all of Iran’s “Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!)” if the regime does not reach a deal “shortly” and open the Strait of Hormuz.

The ambassador also discussed remarks made by Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday about the president’s having “several options at his disposal,” the Department of War’s preparations of options for the president, and what the United States has to achieve at the talks that will require this military backing, including the Iranian regime’s threat to implement a tolling system in the Strait of Hormuz.

Brown also discussed the implications of the recent transit of two Chinese container ships through the Strait of Hormuz, and the U.S. permitting a Russian oil tanker to reach Cuba to provide oil to the Cuban people.
